His and Hers
His and Hers
She's not damaged, neither am I
but part of the love we share will never be mine
He looks up to me, as if I can fill that gap
but only when the other half is absent.
She'll always have ties to him and the other half
love or not, paranoia will eat like a cancer
Others will judge though I try my best
not to give what I want but what they need
Should we two form another, a brother
it'll still only be half
Causing a strain that can be overcome
but most likely will never pass
We'll part, and the memories will remain
he'll be damaged then, struggling to make sense of it all
He'll have love, but not true attention,
because she's looking for hers with another half
He'll be just a half a reflection,
a memory of a love that won't fade.
